Harry Potter and the Disney Games

I last left sharing my story about the fantasmic! tour. After that experence I was able to sit down and talk with one of the Technical Directors of Walt Disney World. His name is Flounder and this man is everything I want to be when I “grow up.” He is funny, loves disney and is every bit nerdy about marvel and star wars as I am. It was a genuine pleasure to chat with him for about 2 and a half hours, yeah that’s a lot of his time devoted to me and the small group of people with me.

After this sit down, Flounder was able to get me contact information to one of the stage managers of Fantasmic! and i was lucky enought to be able to watch the show be called from the technician booth and after the show, go backstage and listen to the meeting. What a great experience that was.

Work has been wonderful. I’m lined up to be runner trained soon as well as becoming a trainer for the Emporium!!!! Im really looking forward to that! So many magical moments with guests and my fellow cast members. Ill share one now:

a little girl came into the emporium riding in a wheelchair with her mother and father. It was very obvious the little girl was crying. Wishes had just ended when the found me and my co worker Priscilla. The parents asked if we had any thing tinkerbell. I ran up to our plush area and grabbed a tinkerbell plush. came back to find them deep in conversation with Priscilla. The little girl was super upset because she wanted to meet tink, but she had already flown back to neverland during wishes. They were trying to explain to the little girl that they had to go home just like tink does. Hearing this and seeing how truely devastated this little girl was, we were able to give her the plush, and because tinkerbell would agree, we explained no purchase was required. The little girl was so happy when she got her hand on tink, It was one of the those cuddle hugs with a smile that kids give when they truly love something. The parents were so thankfull to me and Priscilla as the left the Emporium.

So yeah other things Ive done is ride every single ride here at Disney World, Explore Universal, meet tons of characters, Celebrate Animal Kingdom’s 15th birthday, see Merida’s royal coronation, meet imagineers in the parks, and meet some of the most wonderful people in my entire life. and I still have three more months to go!!
